Open Weibo (weibo.com on web, or the Weibo mobile app) and find the post with the video or photos you want. On mobile, tap the Share icon and choose 'Copy Link' to get a t.cn/... short URL. On desktop, copy the URL from the address bar.

02 Paste into rawlink and click GET
Open rawlink. Paste the Weibo URL (any format) into the input field and press GET. rawlink resolves the URL and fetches all available media in 5–10 seconds.

For video posts, tap the MP4 download option. For photo posts (often 9-image grids — Weibo's signature format), each image appears as a separate download. For carousel posts mixing video and photos, both are listed.

What Is Weibo and Why Do English Users Care?
Weibo (微博, literally 'micro-blog') is China's largest microblogging platform — over 600 million monthly active users in 2026. The format is similar to Twitter / X: short text posts (up to 2,000 characters), photos, videos, and reposts. How to Download Weibo 9-Grid Photo Posts
Weibo's signature photo format is the 9-grid — a single post containing exactly 9 images displayed in a 3×3 grid. This is common for fashion influencers, photographers and lifestyle content. When you paste a 9-grid Weibo URL into rawlink, the response lists all 9 photos as separate downloads. Each image is the original resolution Weibo stored (typically 1080–1440px on the long edge, higher for premium accounts). To save all 9 quickly: open each in a new browser tab from the rawlink result page, then save each. Or right-click and Save Image As if you're on desktop. The original resolution is significantly higher than what Weibo's web interface displays to logged-out users — downloading is the only way to get the high-res files.
Do t.cn Short Share Links Work?
Yes. t.cn is Weibo's official URL shortener — every link generated through the in-app Share menu is a t.cn URL, and these appear in tweets, emails and WeChat messages. When you paste a t.cn link into rawlink, the URL is resolved automatically to the underlying weibo.com or m.weibo.cn URL, then media is fetched. There's no extra step on your part. If you want to see the full URL before downloading, paste the t.cn link into your browser's address bar and let it redirect — t.cn is a clean redirect service, not a tracking redirect, so the full URL appears in your address bar after the redirect resolves.
What Quality Are Weibo Video Downloads?
Weibo video quality varies more than other platforms because Weibo accepts a wide range of upload sources — phone uploads, professional videos from media accounts, livestream replays. Typical quality is 720p, with 1080p available for many recent uploads from larger accounts and media organizations. Some breaking-news videos are uploaded at the source resolution available to the citizen journalist (could be anywhere from 480p to 4K). rawlink returns whatever Weibo has stored — no re-compression, no quality reduction. For viral videos that have been re-uploaded multiple times, look for the version from the original creator (usually the verified account that posted first) for the best quality.
Can I Access Weibo from Outside Mainland China?
Yes for most public content. Weibo's CDN serves the majority of public posts to international IPs without restriction — rawlink works for these from anywhere. Some specific videos and posts are region-locked to mainland China (Weibo's CDN refuses requests from outside), in which case no third-party tool can access them. The most common region-locked content: live news streams, certain political content, and some entertainment licensed only for mainland viewing. For everyday Weibo content — celebrity posts, photo grids, tech news, travel content — region restrictions don't apply and rawlink works fine. If a download fails, try opening the post in your browser; if it doesn't display either, it's region-locked.
How to Save Weibo Live Stream Replays
Weibo hosts live streams (微博直播) — tech CEO announcements, celebrity events, breaking news, e-commerce live shopping. After the live stream ends, the replay is usually saved as a video on the broadcaster's profile. Once saved, the replay video has a normal Weibo URL and works in rawlink like any other video post. Live streams in progress (currently broadcasting) cannot be downloaded because there's no completed file yet — wait until the broadcaster ends the stream and saves the replay. Note that some live streams are not saved as replays (the broadcaster may delete them or live shopping streams that end without saving) — for these, the only way to keep a copy is screen recording during the live broadcast.
Is Downloading Weibo Content Safe and Legal?
Safe: rawlink runs in your browser without a Weibo account, app or extension. No Chinese phone number needed for downloading public posts. Your URLs are processed in server memory without logging. Legal: downloading public Weibo posts for personal viewing — saving photos for inspiration, archiving news content, language learning — is widely practiced and generally accepted. Re-uploading Chinese creators' content to Western platforms without permission may violate their copyright the same way it would for any platform. For news content from media accounts, fair use principles apply for commentary and criticism, but commercial re-publication usually requires licensing. The safe default: download for personal use, credit creators when sharing, don't monetize.
How to Save Weibo Posts for Citizen Journalism Archives
A meaningful share of Weibo's English-speaking audience uses the platform for citizen journalism — breaking news from China often surfaces on Weibo before international wire services pick it up, and posts can disappear quickly (deleted by users under pressure, removed by platform moderation, or buried as content moderation evolves). Archiving Weibo posts to your device through rawlink creates a permanent local copy that stays accessible even if the original gets removed. The workflow: paste the Weibo post URL, download the video and any 9-grid photos as separate files, name them with the post date and account handle, store in a dated folder. For research or journalism use, also screenshot the post text (Weibo's text content isn't downloadable as a separate file — only the embedded media is).
